Job Summary: California State University, Bakersfield Posting #19-056-BK DATA ANALYST & PROSPECT RESEARCHER (Administrative Analyst/Specialist/Exempt I) Position Purpose: Under the general guidance of the Lead of Annual Giving and Stewardship, the Data Analyst & Prospect Researcher position has responsibility for proactive prospecting, prospect management, data analysis, management and reporting, and prospect research as it relates to fundraising initiatives. The position will build, evaluate, maintain and rate a qualified pool of prospects using wealth screening data and other available tools; applies independent judgment to provide analysis of the database and will be responsible for developing processes, policies and best practices, including identification and/or strategic research and analysis of top-tier donor prospects, corporations, foundations and key volunteers in the support of University Advancement. The position works with staff and managers, as well as upper management, where information provided and judgments made by the incumbent have an impact on fundraising success. The position serves as a campus contact and resource for information regarding major donors and prospective donors, and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of program policies and procedures necessary for the identification, evaluation and tracking of major gift prospects and donors at all levels. The incumbent will work closely with University Advancement departments to identify the most appropriate assignment for major gift prospects and to develop cultivation strategies, while utilizing prospect management skills to develop successful cultivation and solicitation strategies that span several areas within the University. Incumbent will also be included in and provide recommendations for; a moves management system, use of data systems and the entry of data, general gift reporting, and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day program efforts of the department.
