Job Title: Associate Director, Prospect Management and Analytics

Job Summary: The Prospect Management and Analytics (PMA) team serves to support the Office of Development and the SCU campus by ensuring that development officers are engaged in the most value-added activities, prospects receive the attention they need, and the university's fundraising goals have a high probability of being achieved. The team collaborates with colleagues across the campus to provide the timeliest and most accurate prospect information available. Reporting to the Senior Director of Prospect Management and Analytics, the Associate Director is responsible for supporting SCU's principal gift, major gift, parent giving, and gift planning prospecting programs for individuals, corporations and foundations. The Associate Director works closely with research colleagues and development professionals in implementing prospect identification and qualification programs and provides a wide range of prospect research and management activities to support the campus fundraising goals and objectives. The Associate Director is also responsible for providing reliable and timely qualitative and quantitative data and trend analysis, supporting the strategic and tactical planning and operational effectiveness of the university's fundraising.


Job Duties: Major Responsibilities: Work with the Senior Director, PMA and development officers to refine prospect tracking, to progress pipeline management, and develop best practices through data analysis and portfolio optimizations. Generate and analyze broad data sets, search for explanations and underlying causes, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations. Provide recommendations to unit managers and development officers on how to interpret, understand and apply model scoring. Guide independent in-house data mining efforts to uncover patterns in specific giving groups for various fundraiser initiatives. Support and promote the PMA program, including strategy meetings, routine reporting on cultivation strategies and development of solicitation strategies while participating in trainings. Coordinate proactive use of the CLARA (CRM) database to support moves management, including moves tracking, proposal tracking and task management. Identify new prospects by keeping abreast of local, national and/or international news and industry trends, as well as collaborating with internal colleagues across the university. Develop and hone techniques for prospect identification, tracking and documentation. Assign prospect ratings based on known indicators of wealth and philanthropic giving capacity. Respond in a timely manner to all research inquiries, either by phone, in face-to-face meetings, or with written memoranda which may include financial assets, potential for philanthropic support, business and professional affiliations, areas of interest and other university affiliations.  Interpret and analyze biographical and financial information on individuals and where appropriate, corporations and foundations, based on fundraising strategies and objectives. In addition to client relationships with fundraisers, the Associate Director may also have liaison relationships on behalf of the research team with various departments internal and external to the development office. Assist the Senior Director in developing, documenting, and implementing policies and procedures for managing prospect research information. Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Years of Experience Minimum three years of experience, preferably in the research and prospect management/development field or in an institution of higher education.
