The Health System Advancement unit is seeking a talented Prospect Research Manager to manage a proactive and reactive prospect research program for UC Davis Health System (UCDHS) fundraising enterprise supporting more than 19 development professionals. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise and lead a research team comprised of a prospect research analyst and a contract prospect research analyst.  Includes assigning work and managing unit workflow as well as managing performance of staff supervised to support the current needs of the Advancement Office. 
  • Actively participate in the prospect strategy development for several fundraising initiatives. Consult directly with development officers and UCDHS executives on strategies to identify and qualify major donor prospects for funding priorities. 
  • Oversee the screening, analysis and qualification of prospects identified via the Grateful Giving Program.
  • Lead the efforts to identify, research, assign and track major gifts prospects to ensure there are an adequate number of prospects to support fundraising priorities. 
  • Train staff members in using available resources for their individual donor research and prospect qualifying needs,

Requirements Include:

Five to seven years of successful experience in development research or information research-related field, required.  Demonstrated advanced prospect research skills.

A minimum of three years of successful management of a Prospect Research program, or combination of education and experience within a Prospect Research program with a focus on major donor research, preferably in an institution of higher education.  Demonstrated knowledge of the principals and practices of prospect management practices.

This is a full time career position in the UC Davis Health System, Health Sciences Advancement Division, located in Sacramento, with working hours 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. This classification is not represented by a union. This is an open until filled position.  This position is subject to a criminal background investigation.  This position is a working-level manager that reports to both the Assistant Dean of Advancement and Director of Development Research and Prospect Tracking.
