Assistant/Associate Director, Advancement Initiatives

Salary range:   Salary is dependent upon qualifications with a minimum $3,775 per month.

Job Duties:

Harvey Mudd College seeks a highly motivated individual to manage a 

portfolio of ongoing and special projects to coordinate the 

interdepartmental efforts of the Office of Advancement and promote 

the College within selected donor constituencies. By working 

independently, but in coordination with the Director of Advancement 

Initiatives (DAI), the Assistant/Associate Director, Advancement 

Initiatives will significantly augment the capacity of the Research 

Team, serve as a primary liaison between the Office of Advancement 

and the Office of the President, contribute to the planning and 

implementation of Campaign Preparedness Initiatives, and pursue 

selected face-to-face solicitations for leadership gifts. Functional 

supervision of half-time or clerical or student personnel may be 

required. This is a unique position which requires a variety of 

development skill sets to broaden the Advancement Division’s 

outreach, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will 

possess strong communication skills, particularly in the written 

form, a willingness to work in a collaborative and fast-paced work 

environment, and to provide high level support to the DAI when 

needed. 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and five plus years with at least two years 

directly related to fundraising, whether in a college/university 

setting or in the non-profit sector, or equivalent experience, such 

as business development, etc. Fundraising experience in a college or 

university is preferred.
