Job PostingCalifornia State University Los Angeles PROSPECT RESEARCH AND GRANTS COORDINATOR Salary range: $3,245-$5,193/MonthlyJob Summary: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification. Under the direction of the Director of Foundation Relations and the Director of Advancement Services, the incumbent is responsible for both prospect research and coordination of grants. Job Duties: Duties for prospect research include but are not limited to: incumbent will gather, analyze, and manage information on university donors, prospects and potential prospects; conduct background research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using various research methodologies including on-line databases, periodicals, and other available sources. Produce timely and cogent prospect research profiles; assist in the initial implementation, training, and continued use of a new computerized prospect management and tracking system (i.e. posting prospects assignments, clearances, contact reports; asset ratings and other moves management tracking.); oversee and maintain prospect electronic and paper file systems; manage online and periodical subscription accounts for prospect research. Duties for coordination of grants include but are not limited to: coordination of the preparation and timely submission of grant applications and proposals to private sources to be in compliance with grant guidelines and Request for Proposal terms; responsible for ensuring that proposals and budgets meet compliance with private agency regulations and policies, as well as university and auxiliary organization policies; coordinate the post-award routing of grant agreements, award checks, and proposal packages for grant account set- up; maintain records on private grant proposal submittals for purposes of reporting requirements; track activity; and future prospecting activities at the university. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience providing day-to-day administration of a program, and/or performing a variety of administrative and analytical work related to budgetary analysis, program research, development, and evaluation. At least one year of prospect research experience is required. Additional experience demonstrating acquisition and successful application of the required knowledge, skills and abilities may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must have knowledge of: prospect research principles and ethics, wealth indicators, and fund raising strategies; office methods, procedures, and practices; various computer programs and applications including Windows based software and on-line Internet searching, and rational database systems like PeopleSoft Contributor Relations; working knowledge of budget policies and procedures; knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and analysis; and the ability to apply them. Incumbent must have the ability to: use specialized skills to synthesize data from research sources into brief donor/prospect files; use sound judgment in evaluating information; use discretion and handle information confidentially; work independently, and set priorities. Strong reading and writing skills are mandatory. Excellent customer service skills are required for interaction with faculty, staff and development officers.
