Please join us for CARA’s premier conference at a picturesque site. Basic, Advanced and Special Track sessions will be offered by an outstanding faculty, providing educational opportunities for all levels of experience. Other conference highlights include a Welcome Reception and Mentor/Mentee Mixer, vendor presentations and exhibitor tables, an optional Evening on Fisherman’s Wharf, a Roundtable Breakfast, and an Awards Luncheon.

Note:   There has been a schedule change --

  • Basic Track session #17: "Internet Research - Where in the World Wide Web do I Start?" will be held from 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 17.
  • Basic Track session #5: "Putting it All Together: The Profile" will be held from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm on Friday, June 18.
  • The session numbers remain the same for registration purposes, only the times that the sessions are being held have changed. Our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Registration Rates

For registrations postmarked by May 21, 2004:

  • $165 CARA member
  • $215 Registration and CARA membership (includes $50 member dues)
  • $240 Non-member

For registrations postmarked by June 4, 2004:

  • $210 CARA member
  • $260 Registration and CARA membership (includes $50 member dues)
  • $285 Non-member

Please note that there will be no on-site registration.

Special Lodging Arrangements

Condominium lodging is available in an on-campus residential complex. Each condominium unit has 2 or 3 bedrooms, at least 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a living area. Rates are $60 per night for 1 person in a bedroom that has 2 twin beds (yes, there will be an empty bed), or $45 per person per night for 2 people in a bedroom with 2 twin beds. Stays can be extended through Sunday morning for those who wish to enjoy the city after the conference. Please see the conference brochure for important additional details.

Alternate Accommodations

A number of Area Hotels are available. Hotel lodging may be more cost effective for families than the on-campus lodging offered as a convenience to conference attendees.

Directions

Directions are provided in the conference brochure. Shuttle services are available at both San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) riders can catch a special shuttle to/from USF during specified weekday times. See the BART Shuttle for important details.

Volunteers

The conference is staffed entirely by volunteers. Please contact Ann Smoot if you would like to volunteer – it’s a great way to get involved and meet people!
