Joan Reiss, Director of Development Research –
The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.
This session will provide an overview of the prospect research field and how research relates to various fundraising programs. Research goals, challenges, trends, and ethical standards will also be discussed. 10:15 – 10:30 a.m. Morning Break

10:30 – 12:00 p.m. "Researching Individual Prospects"

Ann Smoot, Coordinator of Development Research – UC Santa Barbara

This session will focus on the process of collecting development and prospect information. Get the who, what, when, where, and how for researching potential donors.

1:15 – 2:45 p.m. "Prospect Research Resources & Tools"

Kate and Ann will continue their session with a special focus on Internet resources and other specific research tools. A case study will be included as a specific example of what is required for a successful prospect profile.
