Last year the CARA board awarded the first annual service award to Peter Wasemiller. CARA has had so many wonderful volunteers that we had no shortage of candidates for the award. Indeed, we found ourselves in the same situation this year, so we decided to honor two CARA volunteers. They are Cathy Terrones at Scripps Foundation for Medicine and Science, and Kim Signoret Paar the University of San Diego.
Signoret Paar, who is a former cara president, has been a researcher at USD for over 12 years. On May 1, she announced that she WOULD be leaving the world of research to become a full-time fundraiser at UC San Diego. She has been a proponent of research within CARA, APRA, The National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE) now the Association of Fundraising Professionals, AFP), and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). We know that she will continue her advocacy for the profession in her new job!
Terrones is the Research Manager at the Scripps Foundation for Medicine and Science. She has been a volunteer with CARA from ITS INCEPTION. She has served as a board member, a mentor, and a speaker at CARA events. She has also been a presenter at APRA events, and has served on the APRA Foundation board. Recently, she has participated in CASE events, talking about document imaging.
The CARA board is proud to honor both Cathy and Kim for all of their achievements and contributions.
