About CARA:
The California Advancement Researchers Association is the largest single state
chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers
for Advancement (APRA), an international professional association of development
research and information management professionals. Originally two separate organizations,
the Southern California Researchers Association (SoCARA) and the Bay
Area Researcher Group (BARG), CARA became an official APRA chapter in 1993.
CARA's mission is to serve development researchers by promoting and
educating advancement professionals for the benefit of philanthropy.
Our vision is to be recognized as the primary professional resource
for development researchers in the California region.
We encourage anyone interested in a development career to join CARA.
Membership is open to any individual who seeks to join an association
of professional researchers within the fundraising community.
