The CARA Board encourages you to volunteer for one of our committees. This is a great way to meet colleagues and develop your leadership skills. We always needs help at our events, writers for the newsletter, improving and adding value to membership, social media gurus, presenters and subject matter experts. If you are interested, please contact the chair of the committees below. And become part of the CARA experience!
The California Advancement Researchers Association is the largest single state chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA), an international professional association of development research and information management professionals. Originally two separate organizations, the Southern California Researchers Association (SoCARA) and the Bay Area Researcher Group (BARG), CARA became an official APRA chapter in 1993.
CARA's mission is to serve development researchers by promoting and educating advancement professionals for the benefit of philanthropy. Our vision is to be recognized as the primary professional resource for development researchers in the California region.
We encourage anyone interested in a development career to join CARA. Membership is open to any individual who seeks to join an association of professional researchers within the fundraising community.
